This work is John Payne's translation of "The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night," a collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian stories and folk tales. It is notable for being one of the earliest complete English translations of the Arabian Nights, influencing later translations and introducing these tales to a wider Western audience.
