The Public Domain Library contains 53 public-domain galleries, 823 unique public-domain works and 853 gallery placements. Cross-listed works contribute more than one placement. Book Applications and bookstore editions are separate collections.
Exploring the Future of the Book
Babel Nexus began by organizing primary works and classic books into connected visual galleries. The project is now also documenting how the book itself is evolving. Book Applications gathers tools and experimental projects for discovering books, building digital libraries, creating publications and exploring new forms of reading, with particular attention to spatial books and AR/VR/XR experiences beyond the conventional flat digital page.
